Empower
We believe in empowering both women and men to feel confident in safe use of a defibrillator, spread the word and not be afraid to remove the bra in this life-threatening emergency.
Why?
The underwire in our bras can actually take the shock away from the heart and arch over the body, rather than through it.
For any one who still isn’t sold about consent, this action is protected under the SARAH (Social Action, Responsible and Heroism) Act 2015.
What you can do

Educate
Our team provide simple workshops to all and any across the UK in safe use of a defibrillator, ensuring that everyone knows to remove the bra to save the life of the casualty.
We can show you how to safely remove the bra and let you know why it is OK to do so under these circumstances.
We want to educate as wide an audience as possible, so that both those administering aid and bystanders are aware of what to do if they ever find themselves in this situation.
How you can get involved
- Book a BODO course: Our 1-hour workshops teaching practical skills and confidence to learn CPR and safe use of a defibrillator including bra removal.
- Connect with us: Follow the @BraOffDefibOn and #GetYourTitsOutForThePads for social media posts that educate and update on new developments.

Influence
We want to influence awarding bodies, First Aid Trainer’s, defibrillator manufacturers and suppliers to have bra removal as standard on their equipment and in their training.
Simple.
Our sphere of influence
Lobbying
We regularly lobby awarding bodies and First Aid training centres to include bra removal as standard in any first aid training.
Training
Our BODO 1 hour workshop is CPD accredited. Our team also provide all teaching training literature and manuals.
Raise Awareness
How about stickers on all defibrillators stating “Bra Off Defib On”?
Educating men and women on the importance of using a defibrillator safely and to encourage them to remove the bra in an emergency to increase the chances of survival.
